Quit Disk Utility and return to the Utility Menu. Click on the First Aid button in the toolbar. Select the indented (usually, Macintosh HD) volume entry from the side list. Choose Disk Utility and click on the Continue button. Immediately after the chime hold down the Command and Rkeys until the Utility Menu appears. Repair the disk by booting from the Recovery HD.Use Apple Hardware Test to see if there is any hardware malfunction.Test in safe mode to see if the problem persists, then restart normally.
